Economic Development and Women in Congress
This is an academic project focusing on analysis the relationship between country's development and the female participation in politics.
For the development, I used the proportion of Health Care expenditure on the country's total GDP as measurement, and for the female's political participation, I used the ratio of females in the country's legislative body.
Using panel data analysis methods, fixed effect model, and random effects model, I found a high ratio of female lawmakers could boost the country's economic development only under certain conditions like the country's current wealth level.
